When Covid-19 paralyzed the nation, Start Small Think Big, a non-profit that provides legal finance and marketing resources to small businesses, needed to rebrand and reevaluate its audiences and how they communicated to them.

The Outcome

SSTB was already working on rebranding its visual identity but needed to craft new messaging to reach potential corporate partners and volunteers who enable them to help entrepreneurs while also addressing how the pandemic impacted small business owners of color.

Apartment 1A partnered with their in-house marketing team for 18 months as a lead copywriter and brand strategist. We helped develop the voice and tone, email marketing, and external communications with Start Small Think Big's primary audiences.

Once the brand voice and tone guide came to life, we provided a new website UX and copy, a blog relaunch, and an email marketing strategy and copy. We began pitching and crafting stories in the organization's voice for the small business blog, copywriting all six monthly newsletters, and the newly launched Thought Leadership content exclusively for B2B audiences. We also worked with their SEO specialist to launch ad campaigns and were responsible for ad copy and strategy.
